Kids Hope is an early intervention program that supports primary school students through one-on-one mentoring. Each child is matched with a trained mentor who visits weekly to provide friendship, encouragement, and a listening ear.
The power of this connection is simple but profound. Mentors are often a steady presence in the life of a child who may be dealing with challenges at home, school, or socially. The program is designed to strengthen emotional resilience, increase confidence, and enhance a student’s sense of belonging—factors that can significantly improve school engagement and wellbeing.
Kids Hope partners with local primary schools and churches for one-to-one mentoring of children experiencing vulnerability. The powerful one-to-one model positively impacts children as emotional and social development needs are met and learning capacity enhanced.
High-quality training, structures and child-safe processes have flow-on benefits to mentors, classrooms, schools, families, and communities. How do we know this? The Kids Hope program is evaluated every year and both Griffith and Monash Universities have provided extensive feedback on the model - and they have shown... it works!
